We carved our niche in the early 90’s by promoting “one tank” trips to places within a few hours drive of Salt Lake City, Boise, and Las Vegas.
More than 80 percent of leisure travel is taken by automobile to places close to home.
Popular destinations like Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, West Yellowstone, St. George, Moab, Park City and Mesquite were some of the first on our map. Many others have been added since including lessor known places in rural areas of the west.
With today’s economy squeezing the life out of marketing budgets, small tourism and recreation businesses must be creative in finding affordable ways to promote their products and services. Off-season Benefit of Road Trip Promotions
Off-season can be a challenge especially for destinations that depend on international travelers visiting our parks. We learned long ago that local travelers in the drive markets are the one constant we can count on to fill in seasonal travel gaps. We also learned as an industry how valuable this segment of local travelers is to tourism after 9/11 and again during the recession when travel dramatically dropped. As a result of these events the staycation was invented by tourism offices to keep folks traveling. National parks and other local attractions have been experiencing record numbers since.
When was the last time you took road trip without stopping for gas and goodies? Fueling the body and buggy is as much a part of the trip as packing the camera for a trip to Bryce Canyon. Teaming up with Maverik convenience stores was a natural fit for promoting adventure travel, a marriage made in road trip heaven. After all, Maverik is adventure’s first stop!

We are the adventure travel partner for the Adventure + Gear Festival. This exciting festival was originally modeled after Outdoor Retailer to give consumers a hands on opportunity to see and test the latest outdoor adventure “gadgets” that are locally manufactured in the Mountain West. It has evolved quickly in to a week of activities, events and consumer expo that celebrates and showcases outdoor adventure and sports. Back then it was called Dynamic Destinations, Resort Specialists. We’ve come along way since but haven’t forgotten our roots.
